Airbus Interiors Services Interview about the business relationship with ATEM

On behalf ATEM, I would like to warmly thank you Joel Frugier, the CEO of AIS for his interview. ATEM is proud to be one supplier of AIS for In Flight Entertainment and Connectivity systems. The ultra low loss of our coax cable assembly kits is an asset for AIS regarding these applications. This interview will help ATEM for our development in this competitive sector.

Could you tell us more about Airbus Interiors Services?

Airbus Interiors Services is dedicated to creating innovative products and solutions for aircraft interiors – with the primary goals of improving airline revenues, as well as enhancing the overall passenger experience. Thanks to a strong experience on Corporate Jets market inherited from ACJC (Airbus Corporate Jet Center), Airbus Interiors Services has the ability to focus on very specific demands and answers to them through innovative and agile solutions. As part of the Services by Airbus offer, Airbus Interiors Services is a new capability – extending current cabin upgrade solutions for Airbus aircraft operators while bringing additional flexibility and reduced lead times.

How did you identify Atem to support your market needs?

We used to work with Atem years ago on major projects for Corporate Jets, before focusing on the airline market. Following our new needs for this market, we were still looking for highly reliable suppliers, with strong capacities of product customization and integration of aircraft constraints, but for bigger fleets with different needs. Atem meets all the criteria to get involved in our supply chain and to support our own ramp-up on airlines connectivity market.

Could you tell us about your feeling in working with Atem?

We enjoyed working with Atem on major airlines connectivity projects, in which they proposed the right solution, tailor-made for our needs. The Atem’s capacity to co-create specific solutions respecting customers’ and system manufacturers’ constraints, and to commit on our design-to-cost approach during conception and post-conception phases was key for us. Also, the track record was excellent, with an OTD at almost 100%, and feedback from our customers operating the systems installed is good too.

How do you see future collaboration with Atem?

For our next call for tenders, we will keep looking for reliable suppliers, able to support our ramp up on airlines market and to meet our requirements, especially EN 9100. Atem demonstrated its ability to handle specific requests in short leadtimes and high levels of quality, which will be key in our future collaboration.
