ATEM welcomes a satellite high-speed Internet demonstration
SES, Naval Group and WiFirst made a real-time demonstration in ATEM facility for high-speed Internet for navy ships 9th and 10th April 2019. These capabilities around the world are based on SES-O3b MEO satellites constellations. With only 2 specific embedded antennas, the navy ships do not lose the signal and the quality of services remains excellent.
More than 70 participants attend the demonstration, they have observed the quality of the service for versatile applications such as high speed internet, 4K video, live full HD video transmission from a moving car, secured Wi-Fi network… All these applications have been shown simultaneously with a single link even with a bad weather…
ATEM has already been involved in connectivity projects on ground and on air and we are looking forward to shaping the future of ship connectivity with Naval Group and SES.
